Whether your regular communications include emails, internal memoranda, or management presentations, you must consistently present yourself and your organization in a professional manner – one that uses an appropriate tone to enhance others’ perceptions of you and your ideas. The techniques practiced in this highly interactive workshop will prepare you to write and present yourself effectively and professionally in today’s workplace.

Audience
Participants who need practice with English grammar skills or who are new to professional writing.

Pre-work Assignment: Write a one-page description of your role and responsibilities, including information about the skills you have developed that make you successful in that role.

Upon completion of this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Identify their reader and articulate the purpose of a document
  • Write in the appropriate voice to each reader
  • Use precise and direct language
  • Identify and avoid common grammatical mistakes
